The N95 mask is based on Appendix K of the US Federal Regulations NIOSH-42FR Part 84 "Respiratory Protective Equipment Standard Certification" - Filter type anti particle filter. The N95 mask is a self priming filter type particle respirator with a filtration efficiency of over 95% for non oily particles.
